Albania

Albania is a hidden gem on the edge of the Balkans, where rugged mountains meet sun-drenched beaches along the Ionian and Adriatic coasts. Its landscapes are a mix of dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and verdant valleys, perfect for hikers and beach lovers alike. The country’s rich history is visible in its ancient castles, Ottoman-era towns, and Byzantine churches, while vibrant local markets and coastal villages offer a glimpse of everyday life. Albania’s untouched beauty and warm hospitality make it an inviting destination for travelers seeking both adventure and authenticity, where every turn feels like discovering a secret waiting to be explored.

Why you should visit Albania

You should visit Albania because it offers one of Europe's most unspoiled travel experiences, where dramatic mountains, ancient history, and stunning coastlines come together in a way that still feels genuinely undiscovered. Imagine swimming in crystal-clear waters along the Albanian Riviera, hiking through rugged national parks, and wandering through UNESCO-listed cities that carry thousands of years of history in every cobblestone.

Beyond its landscapes, Albania is one of the few places in Europe where you can still feel like you got there before everyone else. Prices are low, crowds are rare, and the countryside is raw and breathtaking.

Add to that the warmth of the locals, the richness of the food, and the mix of Ottoman, Byzantine, and Mediterranean culture around every corner, and Albania becomes a destination that surprises even the most seasoned traveller.

For us, Albania is not just a hidden gem, it is a country that makes you wonder why you waited so long to visit.

Our experiences

Exploring Albania on a road trip was one of the most surprising and rewarding travel experiences we have had. Driving through the country gave us the freedom to move from vibrant cities to remote mountain regions in just a few hours. The lively energy of Tirana stood in perfect contrast to the peaceful, rugged landscapes around Theth, where nature completely takes over. Along the coast, Sarandë offered a relaxed atmosphere with beautiful views over the Ionian Sea. What we loved most was the raw and authentic feel of the country, combined with the genuine hospitality of the people. Albania felt adventurous, diverse and still largely undiscovered.
