Tibet

Tibet is a land of towering mountains, vast plateaus, and spiritual traditions that have endured for centuries. From the sacred streets and monasteries of Lhasa to the remote valleys and snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, every corner evokes a sense of awe and serenity. The region’s rich cultural heritage, vibrant festivals, and deep connection to Tibetan Buddhism offer a journey unlike anywhere else on Earth. For travelers seeking both adventure and profound cultural experiences, Tibet provides a landscape of breathtaking beauty and timeless spirituality, where every step feels both humbling and inspiring.

Why you should visit Tibet

You should visit Tibet because it is one of the most remote and spiritually profound places on earth, where ancient Buddhist culture, dramatic high-altitude landscapes, and a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for centuries come together in a way that feels truly unlike anywhere else. Imagine standing before the towering Potala Palace in Lhasa, walking the sacred pilgrimage circuit around Mount Kailash, and watching monks go about their daily rituals in monasteries perched on the edge of the world.

Beyond its spirituality, Tibet also stuns with its raw natural beauty, from the vast emptiness of the Tibetan Plateau to turquoise sacred lakes and Himalayan peaks that stretch along the horizon in every direction.

Add to that the sense of having reached somewhere genuinely far from the ordinary, and Tibet becomes a destination that carries a weight and meaning that is difficult to find anywhere else on earth.

For us, Tibet is not just a place to visit, it is a place to experience in the deepest sense of the word.

Our experiences

Traveling through Tibet was one of the most unique and surreal experiences we have had. From the moment we boarded the 32 hour sleeper train from Xi’an to Lhasa, the journey already felt special, passing through vast landscapes at altitudes above 5000 meters. Arriving in Lhasa felt like stepping into a completely different world, with Tibetan Buddhism shaping the atmosphere of the city and landmarks like the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple leaving a deep impression. From there we traveled deeper into the region towards Shigatse, where the landscapes became even more extreme, with turquoise lakes, high mountain passes and valleys at incredible elevations. Along the way, we passed places like Tingri and Nyalam, reaching heights up to 5500 meters and even catching views of Mount Everest in the distance. Tibet felt remote, powerful and unlike anywhere else we have ever been.
