Hi, I'm Eline. I'm 25 years old and I live with my partner Luuk in the beautiful southern province of Limburg in the Netherlands. We live in a small village surrounded by nature, which we really enjoy. The peaceful environment and the green landscapes make it a wonderful place to live. In our free time, we like to spend time outdoors, go for walks, and enjoy the quiet life that the countryside offers. I appreciate living in a place where nature is always close by and where life feels a little slower and more relaxed.

My background

From a very young age, my parents always took me with them on their travels, so the travel bug caught me early in life. During those years I visited many different places and experienced new cultures, foods, and traditions. Because we lived close to the borders with Germany and Belgium, visiting other countries was always easy and nearby.

When I turned 18, I started traveling on my own. My first big trip was to Thailand, which was an amazing experience and the start of many more adventures. A few years later, I moved to Namibia at the age of 20 and lived there for almost a year to study civil engineering at the university. Living abroad was a very special experience and it really strengthened my passion for traveling.

After that, I took a gap year during which I worked in Austria in the winter months. Later I traveled to countries such as South Korea, South Africa, and Namibia again. Each trip gave me new experiences and memories.

After this period, I started traveling together with Luuk. Since then we have visited many destinations together, from a city trip to Istanbul to more exotic places like Suriname and Burundi. I also spent three months in Rwanda for my master’s internship. Since then, many more beautiful trips have followed, and traveling has become an important part of my life.

My interest and passion

Since traveling has always been a big part of my life, it naturally goes together with my interest in photography. I always take my camera with me on my trips, so most of the pictures you will see are taken by me. Capturing moments and landscapes has become an important way for me to relive my travels.

In addition, I work in the public transport sector, which also connects well with my passion for traveling. When I visit other countries, I am always curious to explore different forms of transport, such as trains, buses, trams, and metros. I am also interested in less common options like shared bicycles and e-scooters. A special mention goes to cable cars used in public transport, which I find a fascinating concept. In this way, my work and my travels come together.

When I am at home, I like to stay active. I play field hockey, which is one of my biggest passions. Besides that, I go running, cycling, or hiking almost every week. In the winter, I usually go snowboarding in the Austrian Alps. Sitting still is definitely not one of my strengths.

Goals for the future

In the coming year, we have several exciting trips planned. Not only will we go on road trips, but we will also take on multi-day hiking trips for the first time. This is something completely new for us, which makes it even more exciting and a bit challenging at the same time. We are also planning to travel to some remote places, almost like going to the “ends of the world” in different ways. We look forward to visiting unusual destinations, stepping outside our comfort zone, and experiencing nature in its purest and most untouched form.

Looking further ahead, we hope to explore even more remote places, including hidden gems closer to home that are often overlooked. We are always curious about different cultures, foods, and natural landscapes, and we enjoy learning from every place we visit. At the same time, we would also love to explore some of the world’s most iconic cities to experience their energy, history, and diversity. For us, traveling is about finding the perfect balance between adventure, discovery, and creating lasting memories together.
